Hey Everyone, today I will be going through my experience with Survey Junkie.  As the name suggests, you get rewards for completing surveys, completing profile questionnaires so they get to know you for suggesting surveys and there is also an affiliate program or refer a friend which rewards you for getting others to sign up with them.  Very similar to Swagbucks or iPoll, in this review I will let you know my honest opinion.

WHAT IS IT & HOW DOES IT WORK?

Survey Junkie is owned by Blue Media Ventures, Inc. Their website explains just how rewarding you makes a difference to the businesses that pay the survey websites like Survey Junkie to do this.  Companies spend a fortune on Market Research and this is one of the ways that you as a consumer can benefit whilst they benefit too.  Initial Sign up is easy, use your Facebook or Google+ profile to sign in, or use your email.

Once you are in, the first thing to do is confirm the email their sent you toSurvey Junkie - Profile Surveys confirm you are human.  There are also some profile questionnaires to complete, so they can get to know you and can sent you surveys that you will qualify for.

One thing I did notice is, these do gain you points. By the time I had completed them, which took about 5-10 minutes, I had $1.65 already notched up.  But then, I didn’t qualify for any surveys, even after 4 hours after signing up.

Survey Junkie - No Surveys

The minimum amount that you need before taking the money out is $10, which is good compared to some of its competitors and you can take it via PayPal or e-gift cards.

Another way of earning money with Survey Junkies is signing up for their affiliate program.  This is a fancy name for a ‘Refer a Friend’ program.  This requires you to apply to their affiliate program, which I have to admit is a little more complicated than say Swagbucks.  They just assign you a link to use, this required an application form.  But if you have a few friends could be a great benefit to earn money from them all applying.

WHO IS IT FOR?

First of all, there are a few restrictions to who can sign up with Survey Junkie.  You need to be 18 years old and live in the UK, US, Canada or Australia.  The currency is standard US Dollars, I live in the UK and the balance is displayed in dollars.

Survey Junkie is for those looking for a little bit of extra money ready for Christmas or to top up a salary.  There are great ways to work towards earning a living online, but this wouldn’t be one of them.

Having said that, I saw a great article discussing how these survey sites are a great way to keep the mind active.  If you are in a situation where you haven’t got a lot of stimulus, these can be great to get you thinking.  These has given me a different point of view on them.  The same could be said for games like Sudoku helping those with Alzheimer’s.

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT IT?

The design of the website is simple and easy to navigate. In a way Swagbucks has too much to navigate around, whereas Survey Junkie has one dashboard for you to look at as you sign in.  If there is a green tick next to the word Surveys you have them available for you to complete.  The profile surveys give you rewards, you earn $1.65 just by completing your profile.

They are very honest about the fact, this is not a money-making opportunity.  They start you out with realistic targets.  Earning $10 to withdrawal makes it easier to deal with.  If you earn that a week, then at least that is better than a lot of others.

The $10 limit is relatively low compared to its competitors which is another great positive.

The affiliate program is great for those with the ability to influence a number of friends to sign up earning you some additional money.

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE?

OK, there are always negatives with these types of sites.  The main one for me is not being eligible for many surveys.  It must be something to do with my interests, or my day job, but I didn’t receive a survey at all on the first day and still haven’t.  Although it may do with living in the UK, as a number of the profile questions had to be tick as no, as I didn’t vote in the presidential election (yes, that was a question) and a lot of the shops, phone networks, etc. are different over here.

But it does make me wonder why the UK is eligible if that is the case.

I will update this post, with if this has changed, but it doesn’t look promising.

SUPPORT

There is an in-depth FAQ which covers the majority of questions that I think most would ask.  There is also the ability to send them an e-mail which will be responded to shortly.

COST

There isn’t an issue with cost, as it is a free sign up. Apart from the restrictions on country and age, anyone can sign up.

FINAL OPINION & VERDICT

Survey Junkie offers people a way of earning genuine money through completing surveys.  It is a way of earning casual money, although not a way of it being a full-time career. They are very honest on their site about that fact, which is something I like as others do advertise it as a money-making past-time.

It has a low threshold of $10 before they pay out which is better than some of its competitors.

Depending on your demographic it can be difficult to be eligible for surveys, which is hard to determine prior to signing up.  Although the opposite can be said that someone had there is the prime target for these types of survey sites and will earn considerable more than others.

They offer an affiliate program as most do, although this one seems a little harder to get into than others.

If you are after a little bit of extra money ready for Christmas, this might be for you.  If you are looking for ways to replace your day job, I wouldn’t suggest survey sites.

If you are looking for a genuine way of earning a living and working from home, check out our No.1 Recommended Product.

Completing Surveys is great for those with a lot of time on their hands, students maybe.
